my cameras
I currently use the Nikon D50 SLR camera. The Nikon D series is popular amoung professional photogrphers
for their stunning image quality, robust features, and of course world-class Nikon quality.
A true SLR camera opens up so many creative options, and should be considered by anyone serious about digital photography.
The D50 has improved auto focus especially in the area of motion tracking,
it has a new auto AF mode (which automatically switches between single and
continuous AF depending on the subject),
it has a lower resolution metering sensor but that sensor is a newer generation
than the one used in the D70 - spot metering circle is also larger,
the maximum shutter speed is 1/4000 sec, continuous shooting is 2.5 fps,
it has a better viewfinder eyecup, the LCD monitor has increased to 2.0" in size,
the D50 takes SD cards (not CF), it's slightly smaller and lighter than the D70 and
several features have been removed or simplified to make the camera easier to use.
I use a Nikon 18-70mm general pupose lens, a 70-300mm Nikon lens, and SB-600 Speedlight external flash, in addition to filters, colored gels, and other accessories.

My previous favorite is the Olympus C2100UZ. This prosumer camera offers many powerful features with point-and-shoot ease.
Most of my portfolio was shot with this camera. Even though only 2 megapixels, the quality of the shots are at a professional level.
This camera has good image quality, neutral color balance and good resolution for a 2 megapixel camera.
It's excellent 10x optical zoom with image stabilization gives this camera a sizable edge over other 2 MP and many 3 megapixel cameras.
It performs very well in low light and has a decent flash. It also has good buffering ability, with no delay between shots.
